Whitley Crochet Cowl Pattern
Whitley is a modular design made from square motifs, each worked in the round, and assembled using the "join as you go" method to crochet them together. The size is easily adjusted and it is suitable for those with some crochet experience.
The design is ideally suited for using mini-skeins or scraps of yarn and can be worked following a co-ordinated colour scheme or with a random effect. Each square can be worked in several colours or, if preferred, a single colourway.
My sample was worked with a total of 120g/440m of 4-ply yarn using a 3.5mm hook to give a diameter of approximately 100cm (39 inches) and a depth of 26cm (10 1/4 inches) but the cowl could easily be worked in laceweight, or thicker yarns if preferred.
The pattern is written in full.
