PLEASE NOTE: This listing is for a knitting pattern only. Knitted items shown are NOT for sale.
The name of this shawl was inspired by the original lace pattern, which evolves and changes in a subtle way throughout the design, reminding me of the way in which a mountain's features change as mist rises and recedes. Suitable for knitters with a little experience of lace, with optional beading, it is adjustable in size and is designed to be worked on a circular needle with a single 100g skein of laceweight or 4-ply/sock yarn. Either version can be adjusted to make a larger shawl by repeating various sections of the pattern, which will of course require extra yarn (and beads, if used).
There are two options for allover beading. The shawl can also be knitted without beads or beaded in selected sections only.
The allover laceweight with full beading takes just over 2,200 beads, while the reduced beading version requires around 1,440 beads. To bead just the edging section takes around 900/570 beads for fully or reduced versions.
The allover 4-ply with full beading takes around 1,440, or 900 for reduced beading. Edging only would require around 600/350 beads.
The pattern is both charted and written in full.
This pattern is copyright Julie Harris Designs and for personal use only, and may not be copied or distributed without my permission. Knitted items made from this pattern may not be sold or produced commercially.
