Donna Cowl Kit - British Alpaca Silk 4-ply
This kit includes the printed pattern and a 60g (270m) skein of our wonderfully soft 80% British Alpaca, 20% Tussah Silk 4-ply yarn, sufficient to make the 4-ply version of the cowl as written.
A cosy cowl, knitted in the round, using a selection of traditional Shetland lace patterns with a pretty edging that can be blocked into soft or more dramatic points.
Knitted in a 4-ply yarn, there are pattern stitches on the majority of rows but, as it only uses basic lace stitches and is worked in the round, and therefore with the knit side facing, it is suitable for knitters with some experience of lace, or intermediate knitters. The pattern can easily be adapted to make a larger circumference cowl if required.
The cowl can be worked on a circular needle or with double-pointed needles (sizes 3mm and 4mm were used for our sample). The pattern is both charted and written in full. There is also a laceweight version included in the same pattern.
