I designed this sweet little hat pattern specifically for my North Ronaldsay Heavy Lace yarn - one of the rare breed yarns I've managed to source. (It could also be made using a fine 4-ply or another slightly thicker than standard lace yarn.)
The hat features an allover lace pattern with deep ribbed brim, and is designed to make a set with the matching Autumn Equinox Mitts pattern - available separately. This is a fairly simple knit, ideal for those with just a little experience of knitting in the round. It can be made using a set of 4 dpns or on a small circular needle.
Designed to fit an average female head, the hat can be made a little larger or smaller by changing the needle size.
You can make both the hat and the matching mitts from around 70g of yarn.
The pattern uses basic stitches, and is both charted and fully written.
This pattern is copyright Julie Harris Designs and for personal use only, and may not be copied or distributed without my permission. Knitted items made from this pattern may not be sold or produced commercially.
