This shawl was inspired by primroses and wood anemones glimpsed on the forest floor on a sunny spring morning.
Suitable for knitters with a little experience of lace, or a confident/adventurous beginner, it is adjustable in size and can be worked with a single skein of laceweight or 4-ply/sock yarn. If you would like a skein of yarn dyed to order for this, please contact me.
The main body is worked in a traditional Estonian pattern comprising a simple 8-row repeat. This develops into a diamond and flower edging that can be blocked into neat points.
My sample shawls were worked in the following yarns:
Small Laceweight version - Violet and Yellow - Watercolours and Lace Alpaca Lace or Alpaca Silk Lace
1 x 100g skein - 800m per 100g
Medium 4ply/sock yarn version - Pink and Lavender - Watercolours and Lace British Alpaca/Silk 4-ply
1 x 100g skein - 450m per 100g
The pattern is presented in chart form (a full written version will be available shortly).
