By popular request, a selection of mini-skeins in our best-selling British Alpaca Silk 4-ply.
Hand dyed/painted 4-ply/fingering/sock weight yarn in a blend of 80% Baby Alpaca harvested only from British flocks, plus 20% Tussah Silk. This yarn is incredibly silky and soft to the touch, and takes dye beautifully, giving wonderful glowing colours. Softly twisted, it is lighter than a standard 4-ply, but the knitted fabric is thicker than you might expect.
Each skein is approximately 20g in weight, giving around 90m of yarn. Ideal for Fair Isle and other colourwork techniques where small quantities of yarn are needed. 5 skeins are produced in each dyelot, using the same recipes as our standard British Alpaca Silk 4-ply range.
Skeins can be purchased individually or in mixed packs of 3 or 5 colours of your choice.
