This kit includes the printed pattern and 2 x 100g skeins of British Wool 4-ply, sufficient to make the one-size shrug which will fit a 34-42 inch (86-106cm) bust. The kit is presented in a good quality brown paper gift bag with clear window to show the yarn colour.
Suitable for intermediate knitters, this shrug features a cable panel down the centre back, with stitches picked up either side and worked flat in a cable and lace rib design down to the ribbed cuffs which are worked in the round and which sit at the elbow. Further stitches are then picked up for a ribbed edging around the neckline. It is worked as a rectangle with cuffs, and with virtually no shaping required.
The stitch design produces quite a stretchy fabric, so the pattern gives instructions for one size but it is quite easy to adjust by adding or omitting repeats of the cable and lace rib. The sample used 170g/680m of yarn, so you should have sufficient to increase the width by at least another 10cm if required. To complete the design you will need 3.00mm and 3.75mm needles, a cable needle, 2 stitch holders, stitch markers and a tapestry needle.
The pattern is both charted and written in full.
